Last few days, I had the privilege to take part in the UEFA PRO Licence Study Exchange organized by UEFA at their headquarters in Nyon, as a member of the Slovak Football Association delegation in the role of an educator.
During this Study Exchange, we had the opportunity to listen to a number of top-level speakers such as Roberto Martínez, who gave us an insight into his work in a High-Performance Environment; Martina Voss-Tecklenburg, who shared her approach to Value-based Leadership; or Ole Gunnar Solskjær, who talked about A Manager Dealing with a Game in the UEFA Champions League.
For me personally, one of the most inspiring sessions was the lecture on Lessons from Serial Winning Coaches delivered by the outstanding expert Prof. Sergio Lara-Bercial.
I also can’t forget to mention Phil Church, Packie Bonner, Jayne Ludlow, and Sefton Perry, who all provided fascinating perspectives based on their analysis of the game itself and the environment in which top coaches operate.
Equally inspiring were the incredible approaches, insights, and reflections shared by UEFA’s Technical Instructors — Thomas Eidler and Ruud Dokter.
Especially Thomas, with whom we spent time working in international groups, brought a lot of deep thoughts that truly made me reflect. It was three days full of inspiring speakers and ideas. I believe that all participants — students from the various countries represented — took away not only the experience of spending time in the very heart of European football, but also a wealth of new knowledge that will undoubtedly help them on their journey in football.
Together with us, the Study Exchange was also attended by representatives and students from the Czech Republic led by Martin Vlk, from Poland led by Paweł Grycmann @p.grycmann , from Malta led by Herman Bugeja @hbugeja78 , from Hungary, as well as selected PRO Licenced female coaches from various parts of Europe.
As always, our meetings and discussions with representatives of the other participating associations were full of inspiring conversations and exchanges of ideas.I mentioned almost everyone, except for two people.
The first one is Kris Van Der Haegen, who has been in his new role within UEFA for only a few months, but based on my personal experience with him, I’m convinced he’s the right person in the right place — and his impact will be undeniable.Last but not least — and I would say, most importantly — I want to express my gratitude and admiration to the person who not only oversees this entire project and ensures its exceptional quality, but whose cooperation means something much deeper and more personal to me.
His help and support in many areas have been invaluable and irreplaceable, and I’m truly honored to work with him on many things.@jza Jozef Záhorský — thank you, and keep up the great work!
