Course Description
One of the best modern coaches, Marcelo Bielsa, once said: “The most important things during a match happen in the penalty area.” In this course we will focus on one of the key elements of the game: the penalty area, which is fundament of author philosophy. Starting from the idea that this is where the most decisive moments of the game take place, we will discuss how the penalty area influences offensive organization. During the course we will divide the penalty area into zones, which will help us better understand the importance of each section in building attacks and scoring goals. Also we will examine specific examples of player behaviors that impact the effectiveness of finishing plays. Additionally, we will discuss selected tactical concepts that help create an advantage in crucial moments of the game and increase the chances of scoring goals. The aim of this course is to provide practical insights that can be directly applied in daily training sessions and during matches.
The first part of the course shows how a penalty box philosophy can be the starting point of everything we do as a coaches. Based on data and researches we spoke about stats that are related to the tactical context in the penalty area.
The rest of the course gradually reveals the next skills that can be used to create goal chance and to score a goal.
Golden zone – this is a chapter that presents a detailed insight of the area where the most goals are scored.
Assist zone – this is a chapter in which the author presents the most effective moves and behaviors that get the ball into the golden zone.
Crossing zone – this is a chapter that discusses the types of passes and behavior in the penalty area that increase the likelihood of scoring goals.
Movements is the lesson which author pay much more attention on cooperation between the players. You need to be well connected and linked in time and space to attack the opponent’s penalty area well.
The last part of the course is practical examples that can be a summary of each stage of the course.
